Insights: Payments

The payments report is a record of all payments and refunds entered into Sessions Health. Credits added or used for payments are not included in this report.


The report includes:

  • Time (date and time of the payment)
  • Practitioner
  • Client
  • Bill ID
  • Payment Type
  • Payment (or refund) Amount
  • Notes (if any were included when the payment was entered)

Filtering and Sorting Features


To refine your report for specific insights, you can filter by the following:

  • Date Range: Use the dropdown arrow next to the date range box to select from preset options (such as Past Month, This Month, and more).

ℹ️ The Date Range filter includes a toggle that lets you choose whether the report uses Added Date or Posted Date:

  • Added Date is when the payment was entered.
  • Posted Date is when the payment was applied to the client’s account.
  • Custom Range: For more control, click directly on the start and end dates to set a custom date range.
  • Practitioner: Select the practitioner(s) you want to include from the Members list to narrow the report to their data only.
  • Clients: Search by a client’s name to filter the report to their data.
  • Payment Type: Select the payment method(s) to include in the report by checking the appropriate box.

Each column heading is also sortable, allowing you to organize the data in that column alphabetically or numerically. Simply click on any column heading to sort the report by that category.

As with all Sessions Health insights reports, you can download the Revenue report as a .CSV file by clicking Download in the top right hand corner.
