Insights: Filed Claims

The Insights: Filed Claims page offers a comprehensive overview of your insurance claims that have been filed through Sessions Health. This report includes essential details such as the date of submission, client name, service dates on the claim, status, and payer.

Filtering The Filed Claims Page


On the Insights Filed Claims page, you can filter the time frame to review the claims that were submitted within a specified time range.


You may click the dropdown arrow next to the date range to select from predefined date spans. Alternatively, you may click directly on one of the dates to open the calendar view for customized dates. You would need to select the start and end dates separately.

You can also filter claims by clinician using the Settings icon (three horizonal lines) to the right of the date range.

Information Provided on the Filed Claims Page


The following information will be displayed on this page:

Information Displayed

Definition

Claim Identifier

An internal, unique claim number assigned by Sessions Health.

Submitted

The date the claim was submitted.

Client Name

The name of the client listed on the claim.

Service Dates

The session dates included on the claim.

Status

The status of the claim. Note that this is the status of the specific time that the claim was submitted. Multiple submissions of the same claim would be reported separately, and the current status of the overall claim may be different from what you see listed for an earlier submission.

  • Accepted: The claim has bee accepted by the payer for processing.
  • Approved: The claim was processed and approved by the payer.
  • Rejected: The claim has been either rejected or denied by the payer.
  • Submitted: The claim has been submitted, not yet accepted by the payer.
  • Cancelled: The claim submission process has been cancelled by a user on the account (using Reopen for Edits or Void). Note: If we had already transmitted the claim, this does not stop the payer from processing it.
  • Failed: Claim was immediately rejected by our clearinghouse.
  • Deleted: The claim was removed by a user on the account. It still displays here but you can no longer click on it for details.
Payer

The insurance payer to which the clam was submitted.

Payer Claim Number

A claim number assigned by either the payer or another clearinghouse if the payer requires our claims to go through an intermediary. This is cleared and replaced any time a claim is resubmitted in Sessions Health.

Clearinghouse Claim Number

A claim number assigned by our clearinghouse, Claim.MD, before they send the claim any further. This is cleared and replaced any time a claim is resubmitted.



Downloading the Filed Claims Data


To the right of the filter options, you can download the data as a .CSV file, allowing you to exclude specific parts of the data as needed.

Sorting Capabilities

The following columns are sortable in the Filed Claims report by clicking on header:

  • The Submitted Date and Service Dates columns can be organized in ascending or descending order.
  • The Client Name, Status, and Payer columns can be organized alphabetically.
  • The Claim Identifier, Payer Claim Number, and Clearinghouse Claim Number columns are sortable numerically.
