Accessing a Pre‑Session Summary


Pre‑session summaries are available for upcoming appointments when AI features are enabled and the client has enough chart information for a summary to be generated. This may include:

  • Recent session notes
  • Treatment plan details
  • Information from intake paperwork
  • Session Bridge feedback

ℹ️ If you do not see the banner, check that the appointment is upcoming, AI features are enabled for your account and user, and the client has some chart information in place.

To generate a pre-session summary:

  1. Open the appointment details for an upcoming session.


  2. Look for the green Pre‑session summary banner.



  3. Select Generate.


  4. Review the summary that appears.

What a Pre‑Session Summary Includes


A pre‑session summary provides a brief, AI‑generated overview of the client’s recent clinical context to help you prepare for the upcoming appointment. Depending on what is available in the chart, the summary may include:

  • Key themes from recent sessions
  • Treatment focus or presenting problems
  • Relevant information from the treatment plan
  • Information from intake paperwork
  • Notable progress or changes
  • Session Bridge feedback (if completed)

The summary is intended as a quick reference before the session. You can read it directly in the appointment details once generated.

Do I need special permissions to use this feature?

AI features, including pre-session summaries, must be enabled for your practice and for your user account. Administrators manage these settings.


Why don’t I see a pre‑session summary banner?

A summary will only appear if the appointment is upcoming, AI features are enabled for your practice and account, and the client has enough chart information (such as recent notes, a treatment plan, intake paperwork, or Session Bridge feedback) for a summary to be generated.


Can I generate a summary for past appointments?

No. Pre‑session summaries are only available for upcoming sessions.


Does the summary become part of the client’s chart?

No. The summary is a preparation tool only and is not saved to the chart.
